    About Spark Plugs

    A spark plug is made up of several parts: an electrode made from precious metal and a ceramic insulator in a steel casing with an air gap. When they are functioning properly, they draw a electrical charge from the ignition coil into the combustion chamber. The ignition coil is outside the engine and the combustion chamber in inside it. Spark plug bridge the gap. As the charge jumps, a spark is created that ignites the fine mist of fuel from the injectors. Thus, creating the explosion in the combustion chamber. 

    How Often are Spark Plugs Changed?
    It depends on the type of plugs. Copper tip plug are designed to last 30,000 miles. Platinum and iridium tip plugs last 100,000 miles.
